Vintage/Antique K. Uyeda .950 Japanese Sterling Silver Cigarette Box

This listing is for a nice Japanese Sterling Silver cigarette box signed K. Uyeda. The box has a rectangular shape with rounded corners and a slight convex shaped top. The interior of the box is made of ebony wood which contracts nicely with the silver to make a very elegant presentation. The box has a tight hinge with the top opening and closing properly. The box sits on four long slender feet and is marked on the edge of the base "Sterling .950, K. Uyeda". The K. Uyeda Silversmiths were established in 1884 and are the oldest Japanese silversmiths still in operation. They are known for producing very high quality silver products.
Measures 1 1/8" high, 6" long and 3 5/8" wide. Weighs 310 grams or 11 ounces (including wood interior).
This lovely box is excellent Estate condition with no major flaws or issues. The silver does reflect minor signs of normal wear and handling including a couple of tiny faint dings on the sides and a few faint scratches on the top with one thin deeper scratch on the top near the front edge. Each of these are mentioned for accuracy and do not detract at all from the beauty of this timeless silver box.
