    Description

    Up for auction is a vintage antique Waterman's Ideal #12 fountain pen with a Waterman's Ideal Nib Made in U.S.A. in plain hard rubber.
    The nib has a very clear imprint WATERMAN'S IDEAL New York and feels flexible and it looks like there may be a number but it's imbedded in the pen.
    The bottom of the barrel is faintly imprinted 12.
    The middle of the barrel has a faded imprint that reads Waterman's Ideal Fountain Pen N.Y. USA with patent dates, the latest one Aug. 1903. It's hard to read the first patent but you can look at close up photo.
    The color looks brown not black and there is a noticeable crack on the slip cap.
    It measures approximately 5 1/4 inches long with the cap on. All imperfections on barrel are magnified in the high def photos.
    The pen is pre-owned and untested and sold as found.
    I describe based on what I see and on research. These came from a large estate collection of vintage and antique pens/pencils.
