Listed here is the iconic Waterman #52 1/2V fountain pen. This is one of the early pens that helped to cement Waterman as a tier 1 manufacturer of writing instruments. This #52 comes with a springy semi-flexible #2 nib that was made in the United States. The #52 will make for an excellent workhorse fountain pen and foray into vintage pens and vintage gold nibs. Good Luck!
    C
    AP and BARREL
The cap is in EXCELLENT condition. There are no major scratches, dents, and/or dings on the cap. The cap screws securely onto the barrel. There is NO high-point brassing.
The barrel is in EXCELLENT condition. The two sections of barrel imprints are very well preserved and super crisp. The pen did not see much use. The model number on the bottom of the barrel is present and crisp.
    WATERMAN #2 14K  SEMI-FLEXIBLE NIB
This Waterman #52 1/2V fountain pen features its original and correct #2 nib.  The nib's imprints are entirely present. The nib is nice and flexible. There is still plenty of life in the tipping material. The tines are perfectly aligned and the nib is oriented properly on the ebonite feed. The nib is nice and smooth with optimal flow for vellum paper. I used it on Tomoe River paper with Montblanc's BMW Blue ink.
    RESTORATION SERVICES
This vintage Waterman #52 1/2V fountain pen has been cleaned and tested for function (filling and writing). It is READY TO WRITE upon filling with standard fountain pen ink.
A brand NEW LATEX INK SAC
has been properly installed with a dry lubricant to improve function.
    Renaissance Wax
(yes, only the best) has been sparingly applied to the surface to protect and preserve the ebonite as well as gold-plated trim. Renaissance Wax is used by professional vintage pen restorers and other esteemed institutions such as the British Museum. It is great for protecting metals from oxidation and for protecting surfaces that often come into contact with hands.
    This
    wax
will not stain or discolor with aging. It is 1
    .
    acid neutral: 2. water-resistant; and
    3.
alcohol resistant. The Renaissance Wax will preserve the color of the ebonite and protect from color loss.
The Waterman #2 semi-flexible nib has been
    adjusted for smoothness and flow
    .
Beyond making sure that the pens I restore write, I like to make sure they
write well. Using a loupe, premium micro-abrasives, and when necessary, specially made nib repair tools each nib is carefully adjusted to provide an enjoyable writing experience based on the particular characteristics of the nib. This classic Waterman 52 1/2V pen is an absolute delight to write with.
The Waterman 52 1/2V fountain pen has been fully disassembled, cleaned, and has been conservatively polished.
