FREE SHIPPINGThis 2-3/8" t. handmade figural pin is a remarkable work by the renowned Edris Eckhardt, a graduate of the Cleveland School (now Institute) of Art. She was one of Guy Cowan's students there, and worked on Saturday's at the pottery to explore practical applications of some of her classwork. After graduation, she enjoyed a lifelong career in the arts, creating works in ceramics, glass, bronze, and mixed media.
This piece is cast in a translucent glass, which has some very pale gilding. It is reminiscent of ancient Roman or Egyptian glass, both of which Eckhardt could study at the Cleveland Museum of Art. Dates to the 1950s or later.
Not sure of the date of this piece, but it is signed EDRIS (upside down) and guaranteed to be vintage and original.
