    Description

Original US Navy Regulation Issue Unit Colors (Unit Flag) streamer.
Korean War 2 Silver Stars (10 battles)
    Measures 35 x 2 3/4 inches.
Silver stitched star on blue and white streamer. Flag pole sleeve, no grommet.
Explanation of Campaign stars for US Navy and Marines:
Each Bronze star represents 1 Campaign.
Each Silver star represents 5 Campaigns.
    Then streamer
    doesn't
    count as a campaign.
Example: 1 silver star and 1 bronze star would represent 6 campaigns, not 7.

    hope this helps.
The current US Military streamer system dates back to 1920ish.  This is a living breathing system for unit recognition.  The list of Campaigns has been updated multiple times to include new honors over the many years since initial implementation.  None of the streamers authorized before 2001 are actually period to the time of award.  Hope this helps explain the idea of original/current.  In the sense that these are government contract made to all regulation specs, by government approved companies, so original US Army but not original to time period.
