    Description

    You are bidding on a 8 x 10 black and white photograph of HMS Apollo ( 1891 ), the lead ship of a Class of protected cruisers , which served in the Royal Navy from 1892 to 1918.
    Apollo, began her long life when she was laid down, on May 27, 1889  at the Chatham Royal Dockyard. She was launched on February 10, 1891, and commissioned into the Royal Navy in April 1892.
    After service, to the Empire, in various parts of the world, she was sold for scrap in 1920.
    Photograph one is undated and shows an overall waterline starboard   bow view.
    Item two is a photo quality 8 x 10 colour statistics sheet showing her ships unofficial badge, general characteristics, callsigns ( 1906 & 1912 ) , trivia and the ensigns she proudly flew.
