These are Focal's latest and greatest. The successors to the TN53K and completely re-engineered with all new technology and materials. First thing I noticed was they're nearly half as deep and much lighter than their predecessors. Allowing you to install them in factory locations such as behind A pillars, door panels, and sail panels MUCH more easily now. Avoiding the huge headache of having to custom fab up panels and pods for them or cut holes in your factory panels. Also allows for a completely stock appearance in most vehicles which eliminates theft.
This is due to a completely re-engineered “M” shaped structure along with a completely new “push-pull” motor with IAL2 technology which extends the low end of the frequency response and provides extraordinary harmonic balance. This new generation design also employs more high end materials than their predecessors such as Aramid-Fibre, providing greater precision in the very high end frequency range which has them sounding extremely smooth with none of the harshness of their predecessors which were already damn good. They really hit it out the park with these bad boys.
These are without a doubt THE Holy Grail of car audio highs and very hard to find by themselves. I have been a professional mobile electronics installer for over 25 years and have personally installed, owned, and heard every high-end top model component door speakers there are so can tell you first hand, when it comes to highs, these are by far the most beautiful sounding speakers you will ever hear. If you're looking at these, than you already know that they're THE best car audio highs behind Focal's own BEs in the world! Just read the reviews online on these things. Many have been written where people say these sound so good that they literally made them cry! The tweeters are not harsh like their predecessors either. Very smooth. Yep , I'm not just blowin smoke - I personally use 2 sets of these in one of my show vehicles and without a doubt, they truly are a whole new listening experience in car audio .
These come complete with their plastic mounting pods but the best way to mount them is behind an existing factory tweeter grill in the door panels, A-pillers, or front/rear sail panels. However, If they don't clear the panels from behind, drill a circle and surface mount them on one of those same panels. What you see in the picture is exactly what you get (you also get the official Focal window decal and optional metal mounting rings that aren't pictured).
