Description:
Chief Wolf Robe. Photo shows Wolf Robe (1838-1841 to 1910), the Southern Cheyenne chief sometimes believed to be the man whose profile was used on the Indian-head nickel. The Gerhard Sisters photographed him during the Louisiana Purchase Exposition in St. Louis, Mo., in 1904.
