A big splash
If you haven't heard of Audiofrog yet, here's what you need to know – there's no one like them. We know, because we put their speakers to the test, side by side with some of the most celebrated car speakers in car audio. Track after track, with music that spanned many genres, Audiofrog's speakers made our jaws drop.
It's no coincidence. Audiofrog was founded by car audio veterans, who have been on the front lines of audio innovation for 30 years and have a rich, colorful history of crafting award-winning, custom car installations. Drawing on that substantial experience and their practical knowledge of what makes a great speaker, Audiofrog has created a no-nonsense, high-quality car audio line. While their speakers will fit into a large number of vehicles, Audiofrog's emphasis is definitely on custom installations.
Audiofrog provides a versatile bezel for custom installations, or simply unscrew and remove the speaker from the bezel to install in factory locations.
The toughest speaker in town
Audiofrog's GB40 4" midrange speaker sits in your palm with the weight of a stone -- there's not one plastic part in this speaker. Cast zinc housing protects the treated paper cone, which delivers all the complex midrange nuances that define the character of instruments and vocals. A copper polepiece cap helps extend frequency response and reduce distortion, making this little speaker a tough one to beat.
Such an efficient design puts the GB40 near the top of its class in the realm of power handling, with a rating of up to 100 watts RMS. Add in Audiofrog's grueling standards for real world speaker testing, and you can trust that the GB40 will live a very long life in your car.
Built for custom installations
Audiofrog was founded by experienced installers, who know all the pitfalls and shortcuts of custom installations. With the included metal mounting hardware, you'll find custom fabrication of a speaker location much easier. The all-metal finish of the GB40s removable ring can be polished, painted or upholstered, depending on your vision for your interior. The grilles are ideal for painting as well.
